For the past 5 years, I've noticed a group of 3-4 Baltimore orioles arriving in our yard during the first week of May. 1-2 weeks later, a hanging nest appears in the same tree, on the same branch. For the past two years, I've noticed oriole babies in the nest. It's amazing to me that these birds could go anywhere on the continent, but they keep coming back to the same tree in our yard, year after year, every summer. We've recently learned how much they love oranges. Welcome back, orioles.
